Bookmarks

Use Bookmarks to quickly zoom the map to a pre-set position. For example, you can create a Bookmark for a water source location to quickly find it on the map.

Create Bookmark

Bookmarks that are created can be created for yourself, My Bookmarks or as a global bookmark that other users can see. There are also two main ways to identify the bookmark location when creating one:

  1. Select a Point on the Map
  2. Search for Coordinates

Note: When you create a bookmark, both the location you identify and map’s zoom extent are saved.

From a Point

  1. Click “Bookmarks” in the left App Navigation Bar
  2. Click to add a new bookmark
  3. In the location section, select “Point“
  4. Select units
  5. Click “Draw“
  6. Click on the map to add the point
  7. In the details section, enter a name
  8. Choose My Bookmarks or Global Bookmarks
  9. Click “Save“

Search Coordinates

  1. Click “Bookmarks” in the left App Navigation Bar
  2. Click to add a new bookmark
  3. In the location section, select “Search“
  4. Select units
  5. Enter coordinates
  6. In the details section, enter a name
  7. Choose My Bookmarks or Global Bookmarks
  8. Click “Save“

Use Existing Bookmarks

The bookmarks list displays all available bookmarks and has a tabbed interface separating My Bookmarks and Global Bookmarks.

To view an existing bookmark:

  1. Open the Bookmarks tool
  2. Select either My Bookmarks or Global Bookmarks
  3. Click the bookmark in the list

Each bookmark in the list has some actions associated with them:

  • Use as Default Extent: Use the zoom extent/location of this bookmark as the default map extent when you open Tactical Analyst.
  • Show Bookmark Map Pin: Show the bookmark’s location on the map.
  • Delete Bookmark: Delete the selected bookmark from the application.
